Customers are often referred to as an investment that keeps any business foundation strong. Often times we forget how important customers are and how crucial it is for business to show appreciation towards them. The style of appreciation does not need to be costly; on the contrary, it should be a gift that resonates with your particular audience; remember, this is not about you, it’s about your customer.

Some thoughts a business should consider when showing customer appreciation include:

  1. Keep in contact. By keeping in contact with your customers, you start creating a customer relationship with them. Gather information about your customers such as their birthdays or even the day they bought your product. By sending greetings or messages, without constantly bombarding them with a sales pitch, customers observe that you’re paying attention and you’re not solely focused on taking their money.
  2. If your customer has any questions or concerns about your product or service, get back to them as quickly as possible. The longer the response time, the more aggravated your customer will be.
  3. Share facts about the company. Communicating with customers on news about your services gives them special inside intel. Don’t try to sell anything, instead provide useful information.
  4. Reverse referrals. If you are in the business-to-business industry, look for ways to refer business to them. This will make your business distinguishable from the others.
